Sounds bogus. Do you have any aftermarket sirrus or Ipod stuff on the truck? If so, that is the problem why it can't be updated. Sounds weird, but have them pukk the fuses and it works.

If you don't have any aftermarket stuff on, could be a locked tuner on the ecm, now the history?

I hate to ask, why would having a Sirius radio mess up the ability for dealer to program PCM?

 

i did swap out the xm for sirrius radio. And Edge w/attitude. Added all led tail and 3rd brake lights and all silverstar bulbs in front. thats all for electrical. some other problems ive had: twice in a couple weeks it has cut out and the compass was flickering on and off // 3 times in one day up hunting woke up at 4 and it would not start noticed the fuel gague didnt work. got warm in the trailer and went and tried again 10 mins later and the gauge worked and it fired right up// at about 2000rpm normal driving motor sounds like a power stroke(gets loud) then goes away

 

Does the radio connect to the comm buss? I know in my VW the radio connects to the comm buss and some after market radios don't have the proper protocol and mess things up. Maybe this is the same issue.

 

Just pull the fuse that powers it before uploading.
