Went on a 400 mile road trip today and when I stopped at a agriculture checkpoint I had no throttle response at all.. Limped it to the side of the road and put it in park then all the sudden it snapped out of it,, put it in drive and off it went,, No problems after that.. Wife is now freaking out that it's gonna cut out on one of the summit's we gotta climb to get home.. I know it's the tps but does it just give out like that?? I thought it was a gradual thing,, should I be worried??
I've got a crew cab full of kids. Thanks you guys for any input..

I don't know if the TPS will come and go like that, but it sounds like loose wires to me. If the truck slows to a stop and you do happen to get stuck on a hill (which I doubt you will), try to climb it in 4 low and it should idle to the top if you have no throttle or very little. Otherwise I'd try to restart the truck next time if putting it in park doesn't do the trick. But hopefully it was a one time issue for this trip.

That the first thing I checked when we got there and nothing out of the ordinary,, had no problems 300 miles after that,, never have had a issue with my truck it has been very dependable this just threw me off and figured id post it to see if anyone has experienced this.. Hoping cruise control can take over if pedal fails...
