Excessive soot and more regen's

I just drove my 2009 lmm 2500hd from Illinois to Colorado pulling my 24ft enclosed trailer (1000 miles). My best guess was about 20k lbs gross. The truck is bone stock except my edge legacy. I always monitor my dpf cycles and soot levels. The truck normally begins regen around 44 grams of soot. I was producing so much soot that I was in regen mode almost the whole trip. Once I hit Colorado, I could barely keep the soot under 75 grams. It got so bad that the soot got all the way up to 95 grams and put my truck in limp mode. I had to clear the CEL and unhook the trailer to get the soot low enough to pull the trailer. Truck only has 70k on it and the edge was only on level 2. I am also noticing that my truck seems to be producing soot more than normal now as well. Sorry for the lengthy post. Does anyone have any idea what kind of issues I could be fighting here? Dpf? Fuel? Edge?

Thanks!

Well, I don't know much, but I would say the edge tuner ain't helping ya

How does the truck run empty? Lack of power or high fuel use? I think you should put the truck back to stock programing and drive it empty to see how it feels/performs. You either have a lack of boost or are dumping to much fuel causing the rapid soot production. You could also have a bad diff pressure sensor cause it to think it has too much soot. Do you monitor DPF press diff? It actually tells more than soot level does (soot level is calculated, not measured). On my truck I had a faulty EGR motor causing to never go into regen (forced via tech 2 or driving).
Are you in Co? I have a spare pressure sensor if you are close and want to try it.

I'll put it back to stock and go from there. I just started watching boost lastnight. It's hard to tell if power is any different. It seems to take a little more to get it up to speed but the ground was a lot flatter in Illinois so it's hard to compare. I've never looked at dpf pressure. I'll look at it this morning to see if it is on there. What information should I be looking at for that? I do live in Colorado now. I moved into castle rock Thursday. Where do you live?

Canned tuners & DPFs dont mix. Return the truck to its stock tuning & monitor the regens.

DPF diff pressure or something like that. My Edge Insight CTS does monitor that so I thought other Edge stuff would also. Normal diff pressure right after a region is around .1 at idle and around .75 at cruse. It goes up pretty quick after a regen. My truck seems to go into regen around 1.75 to 2.00 range. You will find time between regens shorter in CO than you did in IL due to the thiner air. I moved from MN and my regens went from 400 to 500 miles to 250 to 400.
I live in Monument, so not too far from Castle Rock (20 miles). Getting a drivers license is very easy here. Getting your cars titled is a PIA. you need to get a VIN verification done and on your truck you will need to get it weighed and emissions checked prior to getting the title transferred. In the Denver area you also need to get gas cars/trucks emissions done on 2007 and older.

Shady emissions testing places or putting the truck back to stock for the test or registering the truck in a county that doesn't have emission testing.. The diesel testing is all done by private companies. It's also not every year.
